Mission Camp

Our group had a wonderful week at Mission Camp, June 29-July 4! Twenty-seven youth and eleven adults spent the week serving with our neighbors in Ashe and Alleghany counties, while staying at Laurel Ridge Moravian Camp. We had five work teams assigned to various projects in the area. We extend our thanks to everyone who participated, and to the congregation for your tremendous support! Here are some pictures from the week:

A Short History of the Moravian Church was written in 1957 by the Right Rev. Herbert Spaugh. It was initially updated in 1996 by the Rev. Dr. Worth Green, and revised several times since. Posted to the web immediately after its revision, it has been viewed by as many as 1,200 people in a single month. It is a work in progress. Please contact Dr. Green with any corrections or suggestions for improvement.

Do you recall your first prayer? Perhaps not. Your first prayer may predate your earliest memories. In Psalm 8, David considered the babbling of a child and wrote:

Thou whose glory above the heavens is chanted
by the mouth of babes and infants. Psalm 8:1-2
