Adult Sunday School

New Philadelphia Moravian Church is committed to the Christian education, spiritual formation, and nurture of its adult members, too. A variety of classes are offered which enable persons to learn and grow in faith, to discern God’s will for their lives and to live in the world as Christian disciples. Adult Sunday School Classes provide a choice of studies and study methods as well as providing a network of fellowship and support.

In addition to the traditional Sunday morning classes, we are constantly developing and offering a variety of small-group educational opportunities that meet at various times during the week. Please check the bulletin and the newsletter for these opportunities.

 

Advent – Room 300 A presentation based Bible study class, this class is a large group of adults still working or transitioning into retirement.  A rotation of teachers leads their lessons.

David Jones – Room 232 A facilitated discussion Bible study class, using The Present Word, this class is a comfortably sized group of retired older adults who enjoy a weekly conversation led by a facilitator.

Discipleship – Room 133 A class of mixed ages and relationships, ranging from late 20s to early 50s, a discussion focused class.

Discovery –  Room 139 A discussion based Bible study class, facilitated by a weekly teacher, utilizing study guides and current Christian literature in a welcoming and engaging group setting

Inklings – Library  A multi-generational adult offering focused on discussion of provocative Christian literature in a small group setting.

Mary-Martha – Room 306  A small women’s group discussion and book study class that chooses to study texts grounded in Biblical interpretation and aspects of faith practice.

Men’s Bible Study – Room 224 A small group that meets on Sunday morning to study scripture and related topics, and enjoy fellowship

New Friendship – Room 301 A mid-sized group of adults who gather for a presentation and discussion oriented class.

Radicals – Room – 138 A place for young adults to connect and discuss contemporary issues  through the lens of lessons from Jesus.
