This week’s Gathering (Thursday, March 31st) will be a time of guided prayer, focusing mainly on Ukraine but “branching out” into other areas with which we are connected in Christ, the True Vine. (The Favorite Hymn and Song Sing-Along will be NEXT THURSDAY, April 7 in the sanctuary.)
Pastor Sam will share videos and photos of the wonderful and fruitful response being carried out by our Moravian sisters and brothers in the Czech Province and beyond. We will explore several opportunities for staying connected in Christ.
THIS THURSDAY (March 31st) in the New Philly Banquet Room at 7:00 p.m.
What does 175 years look like? It looks like all of you, as we take a “snapshot” of New Philadelphia and create a project that is unlike anything we’ve done before.
We are honoring our 175 years as a Moravian body of Christ in the South Fork neighborhood, by compiling stories from you – stories that reflect your personalities and your passions…stories about your families, careers, and times at New Philadelphia…stories about a funny event in your lives…stories about how you navigated particular challenges…all kinds of stories!
Our hope is to have every nuclear or extended family represented through at least one individual and his or her story. All that is needed is to sit down and talk or answer questions so we can discover a story that reflects you. After it is written, you will approve your story before it joins others in a publication ready for distribution in July (and before our 176th anniversary).

At this week’s Gathering (Thursday, January 27th at 7:00 p.m.) we will go on a journey through more than 2000 years of history in about 40 minutes. We’ll start with Jesus and end up with… us! And we’ll see how our personal stories and our congregation’s story are connected to His story. More importantly, we’ll think about ways that we can make sure that the story doesn’t end with… us.
