A Tip-of-the-Hat goes out to the Church Family Life Committee for a wonderful Memorial Day Celebration. Now that things have died down let us not forget the sacrifice of the few for the good of the many. This sacrifice continues because American men and women continue to serve on foreign and domestic soil for the protection of our nation. Let us pray for them, for our nation, and for all nations, until at last we all know the Peace that we sincerely believe that God wants for our world.

A Tip-of-the-Hat also goes out to Bill Ray III for these images.

The official count for the Fish Fry is 1006 people served. More than 100 New Philadelphians worked to make it happen. We did not count those who attended Trunk or Treat, but it numbered in the hundreds. We estimate that c. 1400-1500 people were on our campus Friday the 29th of October. Click here to see a slide-show of images captured by Bill Ray III. The show takes a while to load. Hoover your mouse over the right edge and click on the arrow to move through the show at your own pace. Hoover your mouse over the left edge to go back.

Thanks to all who worked so hard! The proceeds go to Sunnyside Ministry. An additional tip-of-the-hat goes out to Tommy Coles and all the Sunnyside Volunteers who helped with the Fish Fry, and to the New Philadelphia Construction Crew, the folks who are making the renovations a reality. The Pastor

Synod Update

newphilly-synod

The Provincial Synod of 2010 has not been an easy one, yet it has been a meaningful one. We are particularly proud of the roll that New Philadelphia played throughout. Kay Windsor served the Synod as Secretary, The Rev. David Guthrie was elected to the Presidency of the PEC. We had a wonderful representation of delegates, tellers, and other helpers. We hope to share our experiences at the Congregational Council to be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010. Pray for us as we return to our homes, families and work.

open-door-lunch-2-2010-6The February Open Door Lunch was a real treat. Joey and Cliff made “smoked meatloaf.” The menu also included mixed vegetables, potatoes, rolls, and a desert. Br. Brad Bennett provided the music, and lots of guest enjoyed great conversations. Br. Green brought a brief devotional on the life and lessons of Marconi, the inventor of the wireless telegraph. A tip of the hat goes out to all the many volunteers who make this monthly meeting a reality. Click the following link to see a photo gallery by Bill Ray III.
