New Philadelphia is committed to serving our neighbors by being active in the surrounding community of South Fork and beyond.
Members participate in annual events that support South Fork Elementary, such as our Scholastic Book Fair and a special 4th Grade Christmas Lovefeast, as well as our 12 Days of Service where we devote our service to a different organization/effort for the first twelve days of December.
- Next week is testing at South Fork Elementary. Velvet McGregor has mentioned it would be nice to have snacks for the children after testing. I understand this is short notice, however if you have time and are at the store over the weekend, here is a list of ideas. Items can be brought and left in the library at church on Sunday and I will take them to the school on Monday.
- Nip Chee Crackers
- Single Bag Potato Chips
- Packaged Cookies
- Miniature Chocolates
- Small Bottles of Water
- Fruit Snacks
- Small packages of goldfish, etc.
- The Sweetheart Dance at South Fork Elementary is Friday, February 7th. Would a Sunday School class or group like to provide dinner for 30-40 staff members at 5:15 that evening? Please ask your friends and fellow members! Additionally, we would like to collect the items on this Sign-Up.
We invite all members to be a part of this growing outreach ministry. Please use this form to sign-up
If you are interested in assisting with any of our outreach directed at South Fork Elementary, you will need to complete a volunteer application through the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System which can be accessed here.
The South Fork Outreach Ministry meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Friendship Room. All Are Welcome!
