Join us for a Potluck Luncheon on Sunday, October 28A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different and hopefully unique, and often homemade, dish of food to be shared…so please bring a favorite food dish to share with others!

Following our one service of worship at 10 a.m., we gather in the fellowship hall to wish Pastor Worth Green: Godspeed on his retirement.

Worth Green, our pastor for 30 years, has ministered faithfully to New Philadelphia, preaching to us, teaching us, comforting us, leading us, supporting us in our spiritual journeys with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, all fruit of the Spirit. We wish him and Elayne well as they complete this chapter of ministry and go forth toward retirement and new paths. You may contribute to a Love-Offering for Worth, making checks payable to New Philadelphia and writing on the memo line: “Worth Green love offering”. The deadline to submit your check is Wednesday October 31.

Psalm 149  Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.  Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.  For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.  Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.  May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,  to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,  to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,  to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord. ~This was the Psalm of the Day on May 29, 1988 when Worth was Installed as Pastor at New Philadelphia.
