Healing through Faith, a group of women who share devotions, fellowship and support as they grow through grief and loss, has continued to meet monthly since last fall. Meetings this season will be on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the church parlor except for special outings announced beforehand.

The meetings have included devotions, food (sometimes going out for dinner) and a hands-on activity. Among the activities were acrylic painting, reflective writing, making jewelry while supporting Amani missions, learning to knit caps for infants in hospitals and offering support for each other in the form of fellowship, listening or sharing a movie.

Lose Love Live: The Spiritual Gifts of Loss and Change by Dan Moseley defines grief as “learning to live again in the absence of something or someone significant.” He writes about good companions for those who have experienced great loss and says, “Naming the losses in the presence of good companions, who accept you as you are, is a valuable part of this growing process (of grief).”

The next meeting is planned for Tuesday, September 19 at 6 p.m. in the parlor. Those interested in attending may contact Grace Shutt for more information.
