UPDATE! The work is done! The 72 hour Blitz Build turned into a c. 48 hour Blitz Build. A special tip of the hat goes out to all those who worked long days in the hot sun, to all who fixed the meals, and to all who made a contribution. May God bless each of you richly! The work has begun! Volunteers were on the job at 7:30 a.m. on the 15th as Henry Ebert and Karl Stimpson cut the ribbon on the steps leading to the roof. Look back here for updates about the Blitz Build that will be taking place this weekend, April 15-17. Volunteers (led and assisted by experts) will be putting a new roof on the Pavilion and Youth Building. You can volunteer, or you can sponsor a volunteer for cash. I suppose you can even send money as a substitute for your time. One trustee has pledged $100 dollars just to keep one individual off the roof! How kind! All proceeds will go to help Brian Huffman and family. To follow Brian’s story look here. For pictures of Mission Possible look here. The fishfry held on March 13th to benefit Brian raised in excess of $20,000.00. Brian is still at Duke Hospital following a bone marrow transplant that took place on March 30th. Keep Brian, his family, and all those who are surrounding him to give him aid in your prayers. Especially the staff at Duke! And pray for the safety of those who participate in the Blitz Build.
