JUNE 12 – Lumberton Home Rebuild Update

In the last few years, the City of Lumberton received not one, but two knockout punches when 1,000-year flooding was received by both Hurricanes Matthew and Florence.   There are still neighborhoods where homes are waiting to be repaired from this flooding.  New Philadelphia is joining with other local Moravian Churches, the United Methodist Disaster Relief, and the City of Lumberton to rebuild one of these homes.  The footings and foundation walls have been built.  It is time for the framing to begin with the hope to have it under roof by mid-July.  Your help is needed now.  You can volunteer your time and talents, especially carpentry talents, to work on the rebuild.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Kenneth Lankford, a member of Clemmons Moravian, who is coordinating the volunteer effort – His cell phone number is 704-241-5058  or email at mklankford@roadrunner.com.   Your financial support is also needed.    All the Yadkin View RCC Moravian churches are raising money to support the rebuild.  Please designate your contribution by putting “Moravian House Adoption” in the memo section of your check.   Thank you for giving this mission of mercy project your support and prayer.   You can follow the progress of the rebuild by checking the church website for updates.
