Yadkin View RCC Gathering “The Moravian Cherokee Connection” will be the focus of the Yadkin View RCC Gathering at Clemmons Moravian Church on April 9, 2016. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the conference closes at 2pm. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Crews will speak on “Moravians and Cherokee: A Journey towards Respect.”  The latest book in the Sister Maus series, Sallie Jane and the Wonderful Stories-A Cherokee Student at Salem, will be presented by Dr. John Hutton, Professor of Humanities at Salem College. Celeste Handy, Salem College graduate and Duke Seminary student and pastor, will speak on “Current Life and Culture of Native Americans.” A delicious box lunch prepared by Mrs. Pumpkin’s will be included in the registration fee of $15.
