NPMC supports missionaries and their families locally and around the world. This includes faraway places like Sierra Leone (West Africa), Kenya (East Africa), Ukraine, Czech Republic, the Middle East, Mexico, Jamaica, Cuba, Honduras, and Haiti. Locally NPMC supports missions like Inter-Varsity / CRU, Sunnyside Ministries, Rescue Mission, the NC Diaper Bank, Help Our People Eat (HOPE), Samaritan Ministries, Solus Christus, Winston-Salem Street School, City with Dwellings and Forsyth Prison Ministry. Financial support for missions helped at least 15 faith-based organizations lift those in need and share God’s love. Support for Youth Mission Camps and Short-Term Missions are also components of the NPMC Mission program.
The Missions and Social Concerns Committee has the responsibility and privilege of overseeing, vetting, and approving financial disbursements of the mission funds contributed by the NPMC congregation. The Committee is open to all members of the NPMC congregation and welcomes anyone interested in participating. This committee is made up of at-large church members but does have representation from the Joint Boards (Elders and Trustees). The Committee meets on the 2nd Sunday of each month (except December) at 5:00 p.m. in the Banquet Room. All are welcome to attend.
